(Earlybird fee: Fri Oct 16, 2009)
6:45 - 9:45 pm & 10am - 4:30 pm

At the Toronto Grace, near Yonge & Bloor, Toronto

The Enneagram is a powerful system for understanding human motivation that offers amazing insights into the way we perceive and relate. The Enneagram differs from Myers-Briggs by focusing on motivation, beliefs, and inner habits of thinking and feeling. You find your place on the Enneagram through your inner experience rather than your outer behaviour. Discover or confirm your style through lively panel discussions of each type. Learn to apply the Enneagram in your work and personal life as a tool for self-awareness, leadership, relationships and teambuilding. Profound insights for both the new and the long-time Enneagram practitioner!

HELEN PEACOCK, MSc, ( www.Turning-Point-Intl.com) has been giving Enneagram teachings for over ten years and is the Past President of the International Enneagram Association. Her programs are always fascinating and popular. We are indeed fortunate to have her: she has studied with every major Enneagram author/teacher. Helen achieves extraordinary results for her corporate clients by applying her in-depth knowledge of the Enneagram motivational model to the areas of Leadership, Teambuilding and Change Management. Language at Work:
Speaking of Religion & Spirituality

with
Robert Barlow, LL.B

Tuesday, November 10, 2009
(Earlybird fee: Tues Nov 3, 2009)
7:30 - 9:30 pm

At the Toronto Grace, near Yonge & Bloor, Toronto

Tonight, take part in a conversation with an expert about how to have conversations that matter at work. Religious and spiritual beliefs and values directly affect our daily actions and interactions. But we are often afraid to ask questions about a co-worker's religious practices and perspectives … or explain our own! What are the meanings of certain terms used by people of different faith backgrounds? How can religion and spirituality be discussed in an informative and enriching way, without crossing the line in the workplace? Do join us and bring your own questions and stories.

Robert Barlow, LL.B is a journalist with the CBC's National Radio Newsroom in Toronto. In a career that has spanned 30 years he has worked for The Canadian Press, CTV, Global-TV and written a column on religion for The London Free Press. Rob has studied and written much about different faiths and the impact of religion on people and events, as well as taking part in efforts to promote inter-faith dialogue and understanding. Of course, his choice of language when speaking about religion and spirituality has become intrinsic in Rob's own work. Reach Rob at rob_barlow@cbc.ca.

Finding Vocation:
Clarity + Courage = Confidence

with
Rev. Dr. Tim Elliott

3 Wednesdays, Nov 18, 25, Dec 2, 2009
(Earlybird fee: Wed Nov 11, 2009)
6:45 - 9:30 pm

At the Toronto Grace, near Yonge & Bloor, Toronto

Most people spend more time and energy planning a vacation than they do considering their vocation. To find your vocation for this stage of your life's journey and move forward with confidence, both clarity and courage are necessary. Especially in challenging times. This program gives you that important time for personal self-reflection, sharing with a partner, and group discussion, all within the context of the discernment model, Clarity and Courage. Come with your musings about your career restlessness, your retirement, your job loss, or other major life changes. You may be led to a new role in your organization, a renewed perspective on your profession, a reason to stay in or to leave your current position, an integrated view of volunteer and paid work, a more productive direction for your job search or retirement plans, or something entirely different. Leave with a readiness for change or action, be it internal or external. And enjoy the live piano music that will help us on the journey. Included as a special gift from Tim is a one-on-one follow-up session during the coming year.

Tim Elliott, DMin, ( www.TimElliott.ca) is a vocational consultant, speaker, and Anglican priest whose doctoral work focused on helping people find their vocation. Through his own company Elliott Resource Services and Forrest & Company where he is a Director of Coaching & Facilitation, Tim offers individual coaching programs to help executives, lawyers, clergy, and other professionals with life and work transitions. At Christ Church Deer Park he co-founded Jazz Vespers, and he regularly speaks across Canada about spirituality, jazz, creativity, vocation, and more. Tim performs often as a solo pianist or with his quartet. He is the author of Clarity and Courage: Life as an Improvised Journey, and has released two solo piano CDs: All the Things You Are (jazz standards) and New EveryMorning (favourite hymns), all available for sale at the program. Reach Tim at Tim@TimElliott.ca.

Work Like You Don't Need the Money! with
Rev Dr Carol Kilby

Fri-Sat, Jan 29-30, 2010
(Earlybird fee: Jan 22, 2010)
6:45 - 9:45 pm & 10:00 - 4:30 pm

At the Toronto Grace, near Yonge & Bloor, Toronto

What we do to make a living can cost more than you or the Earth can afford. Work that makes a meaningful life, one that’s spiritually fulfilling, environmentally sustainable, socially just, and respects our integrity is invaluable. Learn three creative approaches. A new spirituality of work is based on the recovered teachings of the Mystics, global religions, and the paths of Creation Spirituality. A new cosmology of work expands our inherited stories, cultural myths and the legends that define our work habits with alternative governing ethics and principles taught by the ways of the Universe. The Reinvention of Work is enabled by mentoring stories, practical techniques, and plausible next steps toward change. Grounded in the work of Matthew Fox, Thomas Berry, Margaret Wheatley.

Rev. Dr. Carol Kilby, DMin, is the founder and Director of the Gaia Centre for Eco-Spirituality and Sustainable Work in Haliburton, Ontario (www.GaiaCentre.org). Her lifework includes being a teacher, a therapeutic recreationist, and she is a re-fired United Church minister. Her doctoral work, at the former University of Creation Spirituality, led by Matthew Fox in Oakland, California, focused on the creation of a program challenging conventional views of work as only a job or way to make money. She helps people see work as the creative expression of each unique soul, the spirit at work in the world through us, and to take action in their own lives to manifest this, co-operating with their deepest desires and sacred imagination for the sake of bringing more beauty, joy, and hope into being. Connecting with "Difficult" People
with

Tues Feb 23, 2010
(Earlybird fee: Tues Feb 16, 2010)
7:30 - 9:30 pm

At the Toronto Grace, near Yonge & Bloor, Toronto

This evening, be introduced to a technique to help you connect in person or by telephone with people whom you perceive to be “difficult.” These people may be your co-workers or clients, neighbours or family members. You will learn how move to a place of compassion for people when you come to realize that everything that anyone does or says is to meet a specific need they have, and not just because they want to give you a “hard time”. This technique is based on Dr. Marshall Rosenberg’s life’s work developing non-violent communication (NVC), also known as compassionate communication (www.cnvc.org).

BHUPINDER GILL, M.Sc., R.N. works in the early psychosis unit at The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). She has been studying NVC for more than 5 years and is a trainer candidate for certification in non-violent communication. Bo has taught non-violent communication within various organizations and is a practitioner in both her professional and personal life. She was attracted to NVC because of its spiritual perspective and has been practising santmat meditation for over 20 years (www.knowthyselfassoul.com). Contact Bo at bhupindergll@yahoo.com.

10:00 am - 4:30 pm

Thurs, March 25, 2010
(Earlybird fee: March 18, 2009)
4:00 - 9:30 pm

We all have something we want to "sell" or invite others to do. Buying our services, behaving differently, joining our group, doing something for us, even dating-and-relating with us! Yet the idea of promoting or marketing ourselves may turn us off or go against our values. Whether you hate "marketing" - or love it with a passion - join us. Bring your issues to work on. Learn to listen to what spirit is calling you to share, and to what others really want/need. Discover what's blocking you, how to honour your values and integrity, and find ways to communicate that feel right for you, from the inside out.

Eric Hellman has been marketing projects for 30 years. A writer, consultant and coach in applying spirit at work, he's co-author of the bestseller, Leadership from Within, and author of Coming Out of the Spiritual Closet.

In the wake of the economic downturn, many of us now face greater uncertainty at work. How can we respond to uncertainty in ways that help us cope and thrive? Tonight we will acknowledge the challenge of such uncertainty and seek to embrace it. We will discuss practical ways to hold on to a healthy sense of self and build inner strength. We'll also explore how to let go of worries and limiting attitudes. With a focus on possibilities for growth, we'll look for a balance between stability and flexibility so we can be both grounded and adaptable while we prepare for change.

Are your days focused, energetic and purposeful? Or do you go through the motions, hoping that one day you'll recognize your dream and know when to pursue it? That's unlikely to happen. Only you can choose what you want from life. It's not easy to break out of the cultural pattern of going with the flow, doing what everyone else is doing. It takes strength, commitment and a plan to break away and do what you need to do. But if you want to, all it takes to start is one decision: "Yes. Now I will do something better for myself". This session includes tools, tips and exercises to help you become unstuck, find the path of your dreams and develop an action plan to move yourself forward. Break out from the Someday syndrome: stop waiting and start living!
